Our Faces of the Enneagram series highlights the person we imagine when we are shopping for a specific Enneagram Type. Today, we are introducing our friend and Amanda’s sister-in-law, Kelly, who is one of the people we imagine when we are shopping for gifts for an Enneagram 9.

Kelly is easily excitable, a good listener, and excellent encourager. You’ve never had a compliment until you’ve received a Kelly-compliment. She is a graphic designer by day, dog and cat mom by night, and married to Amanda’s brother 100% of the time. She would tell you she can take most things too seriously and allows others actions/words affect her too deeply, but she’s working on it. She says she’s a reserved wallflower in new situations, but learning how to embrace unfamiliar experiences. She says her personality will generally change to mirror whoever she’s around, and that she cries way too easily.
Kelly was introduced to the Enneagram by few friends that got really into the Enneagram when it first became super popular a couple of years ago. “I’ve always been fascinated by personality tests and what they can reveal about us that we may not have realized on our own, so I reached out to them to learn more and ultimately took a test and did some research,” Kelly says. ” I think the most interesting things that I’ve learned about myself is why, as a Peacemaker, I can be so prone to anger (I see you, 1 wing) and how to manage it properly, as well as how to communicate and love my 5w6 husband well.”
With a free day to do whatever she wants (no money/time limit) Kelly has a pretty comfy plan.–She says: A really solid free day for me is sleeping in a little bit, waking up to a clean house, going out with my husband to eat at our favorite local restaurant for brunch, and browsing local shops or a farmers market afterwards. In the evening, if it’s not too humid outside, we’d walk our dogs through the historic district of my city–it’s overgrown with trees, 150 year old homes, is lit with gas lamps, and always smells like Christmas to me. It really just makes me grateful to live where I do. I’d finish up the evening with popcorn and a movie that I’ll probably fall asleep during, and that’s a really lovely day in the books for me.
On an occasion (or two) we’ve shopped our own Christmas Gift Ideas for an Enneagram 9 or Handmade Gifts for an Enneagram 9 gift lists for Kelly.
Now, let’s hear from Kelly, as a Enneagram Type 9, a few of her favorite products that might inspire you when seeing, knowing, and celebrating an Enneagram 9 in your life.

Kelly's Favorite
Beauty Product
I am pretty addicted to wearing a cat eye in my daily makeup routine, and have tried dozens of different eyeliners trying to find the best tool for the job over the past 6+ years. This has been by far my favorite so far and is super affordable.

Kelly's Favorite
Book
Right now, I’m reading through Harry Potter for the first time (and getting totally out-paced by my niece). I loved the movies growing up but have always been told how much better the books are, so it’s become one of my quarantine projects.

Kelly's Favorite
CookBook
I’ve become a little obsessed with cookbooks recently, and this Korean cookbook has become a staple for me and my husband as we experiment with cuisines from different cultures. Maangchi has a companion Youtube channel and does a great job explaining not only how to cook her country’s food, but also how to eat it.

Kelly's Favorite
Kitchen Gadget
I LOVE baking for other people, as well as having fresh baked goods readily available in my home (there exists no candle that can compete with the fragrance of fresh baked bread). To that end, my stand mixer is my best friend and has helped me turn out everything from cookies to breads to frostings. Mine isn’t the prettiest, but she’s a workhorse that gets the job done.

Kelly's Favorite
Game
Oh this one is hard, so I’ll give two. My husband and I are pretty big video game nerds, and it’s one of the ways where we can connect on so many fun and imaginative levels. My current favorites are The Witcher 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Both are just visually stunning and have incredible lore surrounding their stories.

Kelly's Favorite
Home Decor
They’ve become something of a cliche in homes around Richmond because everyone loves them, but these prints by Chris Camera of major landmarks around the city are my favorite things hanging on my walls. There was a time I used to resent living in Virginia – for a variety of reasons I won’t get into here – but in a weird way, these prints have helped me to take ownership in my new home and fall in love with a city that has loved me back.
We love Kelly, and love seeing, knowing, and appreciating exactly who she is. She is just one of the Faces of the Enneagram we imagine when we are shopping for gifts for an Enneagram 9. Tell us about the Enneagram 9 in your life! We’d love to know him or her!
