One of the things we celebrate at Bone + Marrow is how each individual uniquely shows up in the world. More often than not, we curate Enneagram gifts, personality gifts, and holiday gifts based on what makes us unique, but every now and then we like to highlight the real people behind the labels, or in the case, the Enneagram types.
Meet Alisa; we are excited to learn more about her and how her Enneagram type plays a role in the holidays.
May you be inspired to see, know, and celebrate PEOPLE this year alongside each of the holidays we celebrate.
Alisa, tell us about your holiday’s.
So, what’s your favorite part of this season?
I look forward mostly to being together with my family!
As an Enneagram 1, what do you value or expect during the holidays?
I value the traditions we have as a family being maintained as much as they can… given that life changes.
Tell us how knowing the Enneagram has affected or changed how you show up during the holidays.
Knowing the Enneagram helps me recognize that my expectations of myself and others are frequently unrealistic, and I am often more aware of that. Additionally I am aware that no holiday celebration or tradition can be perfect and I work to release my ideals of perfection.
Tell us about your favorite holiday tradition growing up, and why it was meaningful to you.
Probably my favorite Christmas tradition as a child was opening presents Christmas Eve. The anticipation of waiting all day was often palpable for me! We’d make our traditional German soup for dinner and then gather around the tree to watch each other open gifts. It was the best to be with family and see how they liked what I bought them and open my gifts from them.
